Join us for a special session featuring global educator and What School Could Be Ambassador, Robert Landau. For more than four decades, he served as a teacher and administrator in international schools across Switzerland, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, China, Cambodia, and Singapore. After returning to the U.S. in 2015, he led the Hawai‘i Association of Independent Schools as its Executive Director, then went on to found Two Roads Education and co-found the transformative school design framework IMPACT-BOUND. He also launched Cambodia’s Future Foundation, which supports capable Cambodian students in accessing higher education.
In this session, host Jan Iwase will read aloud a reflection she wrote about Robert’s new endeavor, The Guardian Project—an initiative close to his heart. Robert will then join the conversation to lead an open discussion with participants.
The 2025/2026 Elevating Teacher Voice discussion series is hosted by longtime educator Jan Iwase. Each session follows a simple and meaningful format: a guest educator (or educators) reads aloud their own writing, then opens the floor for reflection and conversation. No pre-work. No homework. Just deep listening, dialogue, and connection. Now in its third year, Elevating Teacher Voice has inspired hundreds of educators to reimagine teaching and learning, explore answers to the question What could school be?, and build authentic relationships with fellow educators and education leaders who write.
