What School Could Be

Spotlight on

Michigan

Bold Educators. Remarkable Initiatives.

Educators in Michigan's public schools are pioneering exciting initiatives that equip students with essential skills and mindsets for a successful future. These bold educators are leading the way bringing real-world learning experiences to their students.

What School Could Be is thrilled to share a series of ten short films spotlighting Michigan innovations - everything from students at work exploring the possibilities of AI, developing as entrepreneurs, building robots, design-thinking solutions to community issues and so much more. We invite you to explore these films and consider what else school could and should be.

These films capture just the tip of the iceberg of all that is developing in Michigan schools to prepare our students for their future (and not our past), while bringing joy to learning. Peer into Michigan schools and you will find all-school project-based learning, competency-based learning, teachers working in teams, community building, and buildings being designed for flexible and collaborative learning.

Watch. Be inspired. Share. The future of education is taking shape in Michigan — we invite you to be part of it. If you would like to learn more about these initiatives, or if you are interested in hosting a screening and discussion of these films, please contact us at info@whatschoolcouldbe.org.
