Eye on Student Protagonism: Youth-Driven Course Design in the Content Creation Lab

Global Nomads' Content Creation Lab is a unique virtual internship in which youth ages 12-24 design original curricula on topics ranging from climate change to mental health to AI. In our youth-driven model, young designers work on multinational teams to research the topics, design learning outcomes, produce original content, and create learning activities. They engage in practical training in inclusive leadership, backwards mapping, accessibility audits, video production, and more, and are supported by coaching and feedback from adult staff and expert reviewers throughout. These youth-designed courses reach thousands of students worldwide through our open-access online platform and local school-based partners.

The Eye on Student Protagonism virtual events are dynamic professional learning experiences where students take center stage, sharing their projects, research, and initiatives. Each one-hour session features student-led presentations, interactive discussions, and opportunities for attendees to ask questions and provide feedback. These events foster connections among educators, students, and community members who are passionate about transformative education. Participants leave inspired by innovative student-driven ideas and teaching methods that can be applied in their own educational contexts.
